Our Team

Christopher Brown AIA, LEED AP

As a high school student in Rhode Island, Chris began drafting homes and learning on the job. At Notre Dame he studied architecture from antiquity to the renaissance to modernism while living in Rome and traveling throughout Europe. After working in Boston for more than a decade managing projects including the many facets of residential design, historic preservation, and unique commercial and institutional renovations he founded b Architecture Studio in 2010. Chris has taught at the Boston Architectural College and Wentworth Institute of Technology and continues his role as educator with design jury critiques for Notre Dame and Wentworth.

Chris brings knowledge, capability, and design sense to each design task. Each project is a collaboration for there is always more than one way to create new spaces.

Practicing what he preaches Chris keeps a sketch journal, creating and capturing the wonderful memories of his travels and everyday observances.

Michael Holmquist, Associate AIA

Michael joined the firm in 2011 after receiving his Masters of Architecture from Wentworth Institute of technology in 2010. Mike brings a creative and energetic work ethic to the studio.

Michael grew up a resident of Cape Cod, enjoying the best of each season in the town of Barnstable. Michael is continually being inspired by the rich history of the New England homes around him, and enjoys the unique charm of every project he works on.

For fun Michael enjoys exploring the New England out doors hiking, camping, fishing and skiing with his fiancé Susanna.

Growing up a stone throw away from the ocean on Long Island, New York. Kurt is a natural water bug and can often be found surfing, swimming, and fishing in his free time.  Outside of architecture, Kurt and his girlfriend Jaymie are avid sports fans; they enjoy playing football, soccer, and lacrosse with friends near their Brighton apartment.
